Choresnap’s Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) sets out how Choresnap B.V., including its subsidiaries and affiliated entities (collectively, “Choresnap”), collects, uses, stores, discloses, and deletes personal information in connection with your use of the Choresnap website and mobile applications for Android and iOS (together, the “Platform”).

By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy, as well as the applicable Terms and Conditions (collectively, the “Agreement”), and that you agree to be bound by them. This Policy forms an integral part of the Agreement and governs Choresnap’s processing of personal information as defined herein.

1 General Terms

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy (“Policy”):

  • Choresnap,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refers to Choresnap B.V., including its affiliates and subsidiaries, where applicable.
  • User, you,” or “your” refers to any individual who accesses or uses the Choresnap Platform, including both Clients and Providers, as applicable.
  • The “Site(s)” refers to our websites, including www.choresnap.com, www.choresnap.nl, and any other local or regional variants operated by or on behalf of Choresnap.
  • The “Apps” refer to our mobile applications available for download on iOS and Android devices.
  • The “Choresnap Platform” refers collectively to the Sites, Apps, and all related services, communications, features, and content provided by Choresnap.

References to the “Terms and Conditions” mean the Choresnap Terms and Conditions, which are available here and are incorporated by reference into this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy forms an integral part of the Terms and Conditions and should be read together with them.

2 Information Collection

Choresnap collects certain categories of personally identifiable information, whether provided directly by you or collected through your use of the Choresnap Platform, that may identify, relate to, describe, or be reasonably associated with you (Personal Information”). Such information includes, but is not limited to, the following:

a. Contact Information
This includes, without limitation, your first and last name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.

b. Billing Information
This includes payment details necessary to process transactions, such as credit or debit card number, expiration date, and security code.

c. Identity Verification Information
If you register as a Provider, we may collect Personal Information including your date of birth, address, and national identification number (BSN), as well as results from background or criminal record checks conducted by you or authorized third parties (“
Third-Party Agents”), subject to applicable laws and regulations. This information is collected to verify your identity and ensure platform integrity.

d. Financial Information
To facilitate payment processing for Clients and Providers, we may collect financial data such as credit card details, bank routing numbers, taxpayer identification numbers, and other relevant payment-related information. This data is used to enable transactions on the Choresnap Platform and to fulfill contractual obligations. Choresnap partners with secure third-party payment processors to manage and safeguard this data.

e. Promotional and Marketing Information
Where you choose to participate in optional offerings such as newsletters, surveys, or promotional contests, we may collect and use Personal Information to manage these services and communicate with you accordingly. Participation is voluntary and subject to your consent. You may opt out of receiving promotional communications at any time as outlined in Section 6: Your Rights and Choices.

f. Employment-Related Information
In connection with employment applications, we may collect information such as your resume, employment and education history, transcripts, writing samples, and references for recruitment and hiring purposes.

g. User Content and Communications
We may collect and store any Personal Information that you choose to submit in communications with us (e.g., emails or chat messages), or when interacting with other Users through the Choresnap Platform (e.g., via messaging functionality). This information is used to facilitate support and communication services.

h. Registration and Account Information
When registering for a Choresnap account, you may be required to provide specific information depending on your role:

  • For Clients, this includes your first and last name, email address, and postal code. Additional details related to your task bookings (e.g., time, date, location, and Billing Information) will also be collected.
  • For Providers, this includes your first and last name, email address, mobile phone number, and postal code. We also collect information about your offered services, rates, skillsets, and relevant Identity and Financial Information.

i. Third-Party Verification
Where permitted by law, Choresnap may engage Third-Party Agents to conduct identity verification and criminal background checks for Providers. This process supports our legitimate interest in maintaining the safety and trustworthiness of the Choresnap Platform.

3 Information Collected Automatically

When you access or use the Choresnap Platform, certain information is collected automatically. The categories of data that Choresnap may collect—either directly or through the use of cookies and similar technologies, include the following, and have been collected within the last twelve (12) months:

a. Service Usage Data
We collect information regarding your interactions with the Choresnap Platform, including but not limited to, the features you use, pages you visit, content and advertisements you view, emails you open, the portions of the Platform you interact with, the time and duration of your activities, and the referring and exit pages.

b. Device Information
We collect technical information about the devices you use to access the Choresnap Platform, including:

  • Type of device, operating system, and browser
  • Internet Service Provider (ISP)
  • Regional and language preferences
  • Device identifiers such as IP address, advertising ID (Ad ID), and unique device identifiers

This data may be collected through automated means such as cookies, pixels, and other tracking technologies. Choresnap uses Device Information for legitimate business purposes including platform optimization, fraud detection, and security monitoring. The use of technologies that obscure your device’s identity or location—such as IP-masking services (e.g., VPNs or the TOR network)—may interfere with Platform functionality and is expressly prohibited.

c. Location Information
We may collect:

  • Imprecise location data, such as that derived from your IP address (e.g., at the city or postal code level);
  • Precise location data, such as GPS coordinates, when you use our mobile applications and have provided consent in accordance with applicable law.

Location information is used to tailor your user experience (e.g., to display local service availability) and is not shared with other Users without your explicit consent.

d. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect and store information about your use of the Platform. These technologies allow us to recognize you, personalize content, provide core functionality, and analyze Platform usage. 4 Use of Information

Choresnap collects and uses Personal Information for business and commercial purposes in accordance with the provisions set forth in this Privacy Policy. The legal bases for such processing include the performance of contractual obligations, compliance with legal obligations, protection of legitimate interests, and, where required, your consent.

The purposes for which we collect and use Personal Information include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • To operate and provide access to the Choresnap Platform, including facilitating the posting, acceptance, fulfillment, and payment of Chores, in order to perform our contractual obligations to Users;
  • To process payments and prevent fraud, based on our legitimate interest in maintaining a secure and reliable platform environment and to comply with applicable laws and regulations;
  • To conduct identity verification and background checks, where legally permitted and applicable, in order to promote the safety, integrity, and trustworthiness of the Choresnap Platform and its Users;
  • To analyze usage data and improve the Choresnap Platform, based on our legitimate interests in optimizing our services and enhancing User experience;
  • To communicate with Users, including sending transactional communications, service announcements, administrative messages, and, with your consent where required by law, marketing messages via email, SMS, push notifications, or other channels;
  • To provide customer support services, in order to fulfill our contractual obligations and assist Users with inquiries and issues;
  • To conduct internal research and market analysis, based on our legitimate interests in refining our service offerings and informing strategic decision-making;
  • To detect, investigate, and resolve technical issues, based on our legitimate interest in maintaining a stable and secure platform;
  • To facilitate the resolution of User disputes, based on our legitimate interests in supporting a respectful and efficient community;
  • To enforce our Terms and Conditions and other agreements, based on our legitimate interest in ensuring contractual compliance and platform integrity;
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations and regulatory requirements; and
  • As otherwise permitted or required under the Agreement.

a. Interest-Based Advertising
Choresnap may engage in interest-based advertising (“
Interest-Based Advertising”) to enhance the relevance of advertisements presented to Users. We, along with our third-party advertising partners, may use cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies (“Tracking Technologies”) on the Choresnap Platform and in our communications to deliver targeted advertisements based on your online activity across various platforms, devices, and sessions. These practices are carried out in accordance with our legitimate interests in promoting our services and optimizing the User experience. b. Analytics and Market Research
We may use Personal Information to perform data analytics and conduct market research (“
Market Analysis”), including to assess service demand, evaluate promotional campaigns, or offer services likely to be of interest to specific Users. Such processing is undertaken based on our legitimate interests in growing and improving the Choresnap Platform.

c. Mobile Phone Usage
Choresnap may contact Users via telephone or SMS, including through the use of autodialers or prerecorded messages, for platform-related notifications, service updates, and, where legally required, with your consent, for marketing purposes. Message and data rates may apply. Users may opt out of such communications as outlined in
Section 6: Your Rights and Choices or in Section 24 of the Terms and Conditions. Choresnap may also send push notifications through its mobile applications, subject to applicable legal requirements and your device settings.

d. Call Monitoring and Recording
Telephone calls made to or received from Choresnap or its authorized third-party agents may be monitored and recorded for quality assurance, training, and dispute resolution purposes. Such calls may include the collection of Personal Information.

5 Sharing of Information

Choresnap only shares Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy, or as otherwise disclosed at the time of collection or sharing. Categories of recipients and the purposes for such disclosures include the following:

a. Third-Party Agents and Service Providers
We may share Personal Information with third-party agents, contractors, vendors, and service providers (“
Third-Party Agents”) who perform services on our behalf to support the operation and functionality of the Choresnap Platform. Such services may include:

  • Email origination and delivery
  • Identity verification and background screening (where legally permitted)
  • Fraud detection and prevention
  • Invoicing, receipts, and user support
  • Customer relationship management (CRM)
  • Data analytics and performance monitoring
  • Marketing and advertising services
  • Website hosting and infrastructure
  • Communications and messaging services
  • Technical and IT support
  • Financial transaction processing and related services (e.g., through Stripe, which processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy)

These Third-Party Agents are contractually obligated to use Personal Information only as necessary to provide the services on our behalf and are prohibited from retaining, using, or disclosing such information for any other purpose, except as permitted by law.

b. Partners
Choresnap may share limited Personal Information with select business partners (“
Partners”) for purposes such as enriching user profiles, customizing service offerings, or providing co-branded content. Participation in such partner programs is voluntary, and we encourage Users to review the privacy policies of any third parties before sharing additional information.

c. Promotional Activities
When you participate in contests, sweepstakes, or other promotional offerings, we may share information as required by law (e.g., winners lists) and as outlined in the applicable rules governing the promotion. By entering, you acknowledge and agree to such terms, including the potential use of your name, voice, and likeness for marketing or advertising purposes, except where prohibited by applicable law.

d. Matched Advertising
We may use “Matched Ads” to deliver personalized advertising by sharing Personal Information with third parties (e.g., Facebook Custom Audiences) or by embedding tracking pixels on our Sites. These third parties may then match such data to their existing datasets in order to display tailored advertisements across platforms. For additional details, please consult our Cookie Policy.

e. Other Users
To enable the provision and completion of Chores, Choresnap may share relevant Personal Information between Clients and Providers (e.g., names, email addresses, phone numbers, and postal addresses). Additionally, Choresnap reserves the right to share such information between Users or with their authorized representatives to facilitate dispute resolution or investigations arising from user interactions on the Platform.

f. Legal and Regulatory Disclosures
Choresnap, including its Third-Party Agents, may disclose Personal Information or User-Generated Content where such disclosure is:

  • Required by law, subpoena, court order, or legal process;
  • Necessary to comply with tax, regulatory, or other governmental reporting obligations;
  • In response to legitimate law enforcement requests or investigations of alleged criminal conduct;
  • Deemed necessary, in Choresnap’s sole discretion, to protect the rights, property, or safety of Choresnap, its Users, the public, or its affiliates and partners.

Disclosures may include, but are not limited to, contact details, identity verification information, transaction records, and governmental license or tax data.

Where legally permissible, Choresnap will provide notice to affected Users before disclosing their information, unless (i) prohibited by law or court order, (ii) notice would be counterproductive, pose a safety risk, or be sent to a compromised account, or (iii) disclosure relates to an emergency situation in which notice is impractical (in which case notice may be provided after the fact).

g. Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, asset sale, or other business transaction involving Choresnap, Personal Information may be shared or transferred as part of the negotiation or completion of such transaction. Users will be notified of any material changes to data handling practices resulting from such events.

h. Public Areas and User Profiles
Certain areas of the Choresnap Platform may be accessible to the general public or to other Users. Your User Profile—including your name, photographs, biography, listed services, rates, reviews, and other profile content—may be publicly visible. When you post a Chore, its contents may be accessible to selected Providers. Please do not submit information to public areas that you wish to remain private.

6 Your Rights and Choices

Choresnap provides you with various rights and controls regarding your Personal Information and communications preferences. You may exercise these rights through your account settings or by contacting us directly at werk@choresnap.nl.

a. Account Preferences and Marketing Communications
During the account registration process, you may choose whether to receive promotional or marketing communications from Choresnap. You may update your communication preferences at any time by logging into your account on the Site or App and navigating to the “Account” tab, then selecting “Notifications.”

You may also opt out of receiving promotional emails by clicking the “unsubscribe” link included in such communications. To opt out of promotional SMS messages, follow the instructions provided in the message (e.g., by replying with “STOP”). Please note that opt-out actions are specific to the communication channel and the phone number or email address used. Opting out of some promotional communications will not prevent you from receiving others.

Even if you opt out of receiving promotional communications, Choresnap may continue to send you non-promotional communications relating to your account, Chores, transactions, system updates, and other essential services necessary to support your ongoing use of the Choresnap Platform.

If you believe you are receiving promotional communications from Choresnap in error, please notify us using the contact information provided below.

b. Push Notifications
If you have enabled push notifications through our mobile applications, you may receive service alerts, updates, or promotional content. You may adjust your preferences for push notifications at any time through the notification settings on your mobile device.

c. Access and Correction of Personal Information
You may access and update certain Personal Information associated with your Choresnap account at any time by logging in and selecting the
“Account” tab. There, you may review and modify your profile information and preferences.

For data integrity and legal compliance purposes, certain information, such as your name, email or date of birth, may not be modified directly by Users. If you need to correct such information, please contact Choresnap directly. Please refer to Section 10 (Children’s Privacy) for additional details.

d. Account Deactivation and Data Deletion Requests
You may request to deactivate your account or delete your Personal Information from our systems by logging in and accessing the
“Account” section, or by contacting us through the communication methods set out below. Please note that certain data may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, such as fraud prevention or dispute resolution.

7 Information Retention

Choresnap retains Personal Information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including the provision of services through the Choresnap Platform, the performance of our contractual obligations to you, and the satisfaction of applicable legal, regulatory, or business requirements. Where appropriate, retention periods are determined based on factors such as the nature of the data, the purpose for which it is processed, and applicable statutory requirements.

We may also retain data that does not directly identify you, such as anonymized or pseudonymized data linked to a randomly generated identifier, for research, statistical analysis, and service improvement purposes. Such data is processed in a manner that prevents re-identification of individuals and is subject to appropriate safeguards to maintain its anonymized or pseudonymized status.

8 Security of Collected Information

Your Choresnap account is protected by a password, and access to your Personal Information is restricted to you and authorized Choresnap personnel. To maintain the security of your account, you are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials. You should not disclose your password to any third party. If you access your account from a shared or public device, we recommend that you log out of your account and close your browser session to prevent unauthorized access to your information.

Choresnap implements and maintains appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect Personal Information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, or access. These measures include, but are not limited to, encryption, secure access controls, and regular review of our security protocols.

Choresnap has dedicated personnel responsible for overseeing privacy and security practices, including the enforcement of this Privacy Policy, staff training, and the periodic assessment of our information protection measures.

However, while we endeavor to maintain industry-standard security practices, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is entirely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your Personal Information transmitted to or through the Choresnap Platform.

9 Changes to this Privacy Policy

Choresnap may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in legal, regulatory, or operational requirements, or to accommodate updates to the Choresnap Platform. Any such changes will be effective upon posting the revised version on the Platform, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

Where changes are deemed material, Choresnap will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance by email or through other appropriate communication channels. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to remain informed about our information practices and your rights.

Your continued use of the Choresnap Platform following the effective date of any revised Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the terms of the updated policy.

10 Children’s Privacy

The Choresnap Platform is intended for a general audience and is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. Users must be at least 16 years of age to register an account and use the Choresnap Platform. If you are under the age of 16, you are not permitted to use the Platform or submit any Personal Information through it.

We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from individuals under the age of 16. If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that your child has provided us with Personal Information without your consent, please contact us. Upon verification, we will promptly delete such information in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

11 Additional Disclosures for European Users

a. Interest-Based Advertising
Users located in the European Economic Area (EEA) receive interest-based advertisements. For more information about interest-based advertising, or to opt out of having your browsing behavior used for this purpose, please visit:

b. International Data Transfers
Choresnap primarily stores and processes data on servers located within the European Union. However, in some cases, your Personal Information may be transferred to, or processed by, affiliates or Third-Party Agents located in countries outside the EEA, including jurisdictions that may not offer the same level of data protection as your home country.

In such cases, Choresnap ensures appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data, including the use of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission or other lawful transfer mechanisms as provided under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

c. Your Rights Under the GDPR
Under applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR, you have the following rights, subject to certain limitations:

  • Right of access – to obtain confirmation of whether we process your personal data and access a copy of such data;
  • Right to rectification – to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) – to request deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances, subject to our legal and contractual obligations;
  • Right to restriction of processing – to request restriction of processing under certain conditions;
  • Right to data portability – to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, and to transmit it to another controller where processing is based on consent or contract and carried out by automated means;
  • Right to object – to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on our legitimate interests. You also have an absolute right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes;
  • Right to lodge a complaint – to file a complaint with a data protection authority if you believe that our processing of your personal data violates applicable law.
